The Guardians of The Galaxy are a worldwide phenomenon loved by millions of people all over the world. Often considered the best part of the franchise, The Guardians have had an incredibly funny, emotional, and beautiful story across 6 movies and special presentations across the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) since their debut in 2014 with Guardians of The Galaxy. On May 5th, 2023 the world was introduced to their final chapter with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The trilogy, written and directed by James Gunn, has revolved around an incredible group of characters played by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, and many more. A group of criminals learn to love and find the family they needed and find the life they all wanted and become better people for the galaxy.

The First film introduces us to our characters, Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. Fighting over an orb they all meet and get arrested, trying to escape the prison they work together and find themselves as a team, they go on to learn what the orb is used for working together to stop it from being used and destroying the universe. Afterwards they go off together to save people who need them. The movie gives us an incredible story about learning to trust the people around you and to work as a team and not always having to be alone. We see the characters from different histories move onto and find a new life together.

The Second Film begins with the Guardians we know working together after having been a team for a few years. They argue and fight all the time, however they do love each other. While escaping from a fleet, the Guardians are saved by a mysterious figure. It is soon discovered that the mysterious figure was in fact Peter Quill’s father, Ego, so the Guardians split up to repair their ship and learn more about Ego and where he comes from. While split apart they learn dark truths about Ego and problems with the Ravagers. The team learns how to properly work as not just a team, but as a family. Work with the family that’s supported you instead of looking for something that is really right in front of you your whole life.

The Third film in the trilogy is without a doubt the darkest, released this year in 2023, it shows us the story of Rocket Racoon was tortured into becoming what he is and get our final goodbye to the Guardians and we see each one of them get a satisfying ending. The Guardians rush out to help Rocket, and along the way they meet the man who tortured their friend. This is one of, if not the saddest films in the MCU, with very mature stories that even left me in tears at the end of the movie.

The Guardians of The Galaxy Trilogy will have a spot in one of the best comic book movie trilogies of all time. With each having an incredible soundtrack and story, everyone who watched these movies came out with a smile and a tear. There’s only so much someone can praise before it gets tiring but the movies are going to and have become such an important part of people’s lives
