My name is Simirah Perks, and I am working on pursuing my future journalism career. The reason why journalism spoke to me was that it’s so engaging with our community. I get the chance to learn from those around me, while also sharing their stories with the world. Way too often, people’s experiences are dimmed or not shown at all. I find that crazy. Through their eyes, it highlights multiple aspects and viewpoints. People are the lifeblood of our planet; we can learn so much from those around us.
