As everyone knows the Christmas holiday is approaching. As this holiday season is approaching people are doing all they can to get into the holiday spirit as much as they can. However with a global pandemic going on this has stopped many people from doing a lot of things they normally would do during this time. Many events that are usually planned are now cancelled or have been changed to make them Covid safe for everyone. Even though there’s a pandemic that does not have to stop people from having fun and celebrating this holiday and holiday season. Here are some things that can be done that are Covid safe and fun to do for the holidays!

Many people would like to go see Christmas performances to bring them that holiday spirit. This year because of Covid, Many performances will be online using Zoom.Stay safe while enjoying iconic Christmas shows from the comfort and safety of home. The costs of these performances range between 15 to 75 dollars depending on which one you would like to attend. They have different events ranging from fundraisers to help others during the holidays to “The Great Christmas Carol Escape.” There are also some free events such as a Christmas drive-in concert. Just because there’s a virus going around doesn’t mean that the holidays have to be cancelled. There are ways to experience the holiday spirit while still staying safe.

Another thing that can be done this holiday season is make DIY Hot Chocolate Bombs. Hot Chocolate Bombs are spheres of chocolate that have hot chocolate mix and marshmallows on the inside. By pouring hot milk in a cup the chocolate melts away and the marshmallows float to the top! This is something that can be done  at home with friends and family. All you need to create these are some tools and ingredients; a sphere mold, a piping bag, thermometer, a brush, hot chocolate mix, and some good quality chocolate of your choice.

Here’s how they are made:

Step 1: Chop up the chocolate

Step 2: Temper the chocolate

  • To temper the chocolate put the chopped chocolate in a bowl above a pot of hot but not boiling water and stir it constantly until the chocolate reaches 110°F to 115°F.

Step 3: Paint the chocolate into the molds with your paintbrush. Make sure to do two coats of chocolate.

Step 4: Wait until the chocolate hardens and then remove the chocolate from the mold

Step 5:  Fill the chocolate spheres with the hot chocolate mix and marshmallows.

Step 6: Seal the two pieces of chocolate pieces together

Step 7: Then they will be done! Just put the bomb in a cup and warm up some milk and pour it over to see the bomb in action!

During the holidays, a lot of families look forward to sitting in Santa’s lap and telling him what they want for Christmas. Often people would take a picture with him to remember that moment. This year, because of Covid, it has become hard to meet with Santa and maintain a six feet distance. This year Santa will do a meeting virtually to meet with kids in Hampton VA. ON Sky4 tv they will be hosting a thirty minute program that will only air four times throughout December. Also on Sky4 tv, they will be hosting a Holiday lights photo contest where you can send in your decorations for a 50 dollar gift card to Long Jewelers. The photo with the most likes will be the winner.
